Hi everyone!

As most of you know, Ray has accepted a 2-year assignment with Toyota's European Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. For those of you who do not know, Belgium is located next to France, Germany and the Netherlands. The home of NATO and the European Union, it is considered the "gateway to Europe" with its easy access to many European countries. (Hint, hint--good excuse to come and visit!)

Ray started his new position in February, 2008. The girls and I arrived here in late March. We are living just outside the city of Brussels in the commune of Tervuren, Belgium.

Although we are sad to temporarily leave our family and friends, we are excited for this adventure. What an opportunity to leave our tiny box and experience life outside of America!

Summer blues...

Actually, the only summer blues we're having is how fast this summer is flying by!! I guess it's one of those "bitter-sweet" things that's happens when you're having fun. We've been doing a lot this summer, but only posting things we haven't done before...

Last week took us to a blueberry farm in the town of Gruitrode here in Belgium, which is about an hour's drive from Tervuren.

After our picnic lunch, the kids had a chance to play in the bouncer and playground on the property. Then we all went into the fields with our buckets to pick (and eat!) blueberries!! Like the rasberries, I couldn't believe how inexpensive the berries were. It was only 2euro's for all the blueberries we picked. And now we have a lot of jam and a bottle of raspberry and blueberry wines to try!

The girls are now asking me to find a farm to pick strawberries! I'm still searching...
