Hi everyone!
As most of you know, Ray has accepted a 2-year assignment with Toyota's European Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. For those of you who do not know, Belgium is located next to France, Germany and the Netherlands. The home of NATO and the European Union, it is considered the "gateway to Europe" with its easy access to many European countries. (Hint, hint--good excuse to come and visit!)
Ray started his new position in February, 2008. The girls and I arrived here in late March. We are living just outside the city of Brussels in the commune of Tervuren, Belgium.
Although we are sad to temporarily leave our family and friends, we are excited for this adventure. What an opportunity to leave our tiny box and experience life outside of America!

Last day of work in Europe!!!
Today, my assignment at Toyota Motor Europe officially ended!
After almost two years with the Lexus Europe Technical Department, my project has been completed and I am heading back to a new assignment in Torrance, CA.
I have noticed envious looks from my co-workers, as I packed up my desk and belongings to leave "cold and gray" Belgium for "eternally sunny" LA! Never mind that the temperatures in California were actually colder last week than it was in Brussels - my friends here didn't need to know that!
So, with that, Jo and I will begin packing up our belongings before heading back home to Southern California. We plan to take the long way home, spending 5 days (including X-mas) in London, before we fly home to LA.
And now, the hard part begins: Getting Jo Ann to leave Belgium!!!

Just remember your promise -- that we get to come back for visits!! : )
Ray, your strong support to me in Europe will be sorely missed, as my (only) TMS Brother. Thank you for the great discussions (and cappuccinos) in the F1. Lead the way now in Torrance. I'm on your heals.
I'll be back before you know it.
Russ
