Hi everyone!

As most of you know, Ray has accepted a 2-year assignment with Toyota's European Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. For those of you who do not know, Belgium is located next to France, Germany and the Netherlands. The home of NATO and the European Union, it is considered the "gateway to Europe" with its easy access to many European countries. (Hint, hint--good excuse to come and visit!)

Ray started his new position in February, 2008. The girls and I arrived here in late March. We are living just outside the city of Brussels in the commune of Tervuren, Belgium.

Although we are sad to temporarily leave our family and friends, we are excited for this adventure. What an opportunity to leave our tiny box and experience life outside of America!

Buongiorno! We're back!

Jo, PS, DS and Ray inside the Colosseum in Rome...

After 18-days and 4,435 kilometers (2,755 miles) in our little Toyota Verso, we made it back to Belgium from our extensive tour of Italy! Amazingly, we saw all the cities we had planned to visit -and then some!

It's difficult to say which were our favorites since each place we visited was quite special in its own way. But the ones that we all seem to agree as being the most memorable for us were Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Rome and Venice. Simply, "Belissimo!"

We were fortunate enough to have beautiful weather (with the exception of a couple of rainy days), no traffic, light crowds and two well-behaved little girls.

It will take some time to update our blog with our Italian adventures and sift through the 1,800+ photographs we took on our trip. But, we will try and get them up to share with you as soon as we can...

So, until then, Ciao!
